Dahlia is ’dahlia’, named after Anders Dahl, a faithful disciple of Linnaeus. It is also called georgine in some languages, e.g. Danish and Norwegian, after a Russian professor, Georgi. The flower was brought to Europe in 1784 from Mexico.

Today they are still lovely, but next week temperature threatens to come close to zero, then their time is up.
