Domherre - Pyrrhula pyrrhula - Bullfinch - is the Swedish Christmas card bird. A bullfinch on a spruce twig is the Northern equivalent to a robin on a holly bush.
The word is old, originally, now outdated, it meant canon, a cleric associated with a cathedral, easily understood because of the bright red breast, similar in colour to the dress of the canons.
